Firm Overview:

IOG Resources is a Dallas, Texas-based investment firm that directly invests in, and provides capital for the development of oil and gas assets. IOG Resources was founded in partnership with energy private equity firm First Reserve in 2017. This position will be located in the Dallas office with flexibility to work from home when necessary.


The Analyst/Associate will support monitoring, reporting, evaluation, diligence, and execution. Specific responsibilities will include:


  • Analyze portfolio performance data and synthesize for management
  • Maintain corporate model used for monthly budgeting and financial projections
  • Work with partners and stakeholders for ad-hoc requests
  • Assist in the quarterly valuation process
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly Board presentation materials


  • Understand drivers of upstream deal economics and manipulate financial models
  • Review and analyze investment opportunities in conjunction with technical team
  • Evaluate cash inflows and working capital to ensure broader portfolio liquidity
  • Prepare investment presentation materials for stakeholders

Due Diligence:

  • Analyze historical cost structure and commercial assumptions to inform forecasts
  • Quantify impact of gathering, processing, marketing, and firm transportation contracts

Other key responsibilities:

  • Maintain deal pipeline of investment opportunities
  • Assist in the hedging process (planning, administration, and monitoring)
  • Availability and flexibility for other projects as they come up from time to time

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 1–3 years of Energy Investment Banking experience (E&P focus preferred) or equivalent
  • Substantial experience and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Technology oriented in general
  • Strong work ethic and a diligent, responsible personality
